Parents and families of University Park students are invited to share in Penn State traditions during Parents and Families Weekend held October , We are excited to welcome you and your family to the University Park campus for Parents and Families Weekend!

We will be sharing links of recorded events in the coming days. This will help you select activities that may be enjoyable and appropriate for younger children.

Keep in mind that Penn State is a large campus and you will be doing a lot of walking. If you do not have a place to stay, you may want to think outside the box outside of State College.

Bellefonte, Lewistown, and Altoona are within minutes from campus. There are also several non-traditional options in the area including Airbnb, StateCations, and Rent Like a Champion that offer private homes for rent.

The Happy Valley Adventure Bureau may be helpful in finding a place for your family. Sometimes rooms open up as we get closer to the event date. Please check with local hotels to check for cancellations. Parents and Families Weekend focuses on you and your student's Penn State experience. The crowds and other activities during a football weekend would prevent us from hosting many of the events that families enjoy each year.

There would also not be enough lodging and accommodations for both families and football fans. We will host a tailgate watch party in the HUB. Penn State typically offers a family meal deals at all you care to eat buffets in many of our locations throughout the weekend.

There is absolutely no lack of activities provided by Penn State during Parents and Families Weekend. Here are some event highlights that are sure to wow your parents this upcoming weekend. Take the opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes tour of Beaver Stadium. This tour will offer exclusive access to areas such as the media room, locker room, recruiting areas, tunnel, and field. Reservations are required for entry and tickets can be purchased here.

Stadium tours are offered several times during the day from Friday through Sunday. The tour schedule is available here. Free Creamery ice cream — need we say more? You can do all of this while reveling in free Creamery ice cream. Tours will begin every minutes and last around 30 minutes. Kick off the weekend with a delicious welcome breakfast, accompanied by a student music ensemble, and time to interact with members of the Parents Council. Allow your parents the thrilling opportunity to eat in the dining halls like a true Penn Stater.
