Im pretty sure vanitas looks like sora because after ven connected with sora on destiny islands, vens darkness which is vanitas, who up until this point had no apearence ended up looking like sora. It is theorized that Namine's blond hair was also influenced by Ven's heart in the brief moment that it took to create her. Her being first born in Castle Oblivion helps to give this idea credence, considering Ven's own body is in CO and it is possible Namine was "drawn" to the place as her existence brushed against Ven's heart.
Namine as a whole is unique since she was made by Kairi's heart leaving Sora's body but only using a small fragment of said body to give her form, which leads to another idea that she wasn't a true Nobody at all but something else entirely. Until then he only half believed. When he first met Xion, he didn't think that she was Sora or Kairi's Nobody, and it was the same with Roxas.
When he first saw Roxas, he had no proof of who he was. So that's why he lost to Roxas, he was surprised at him using a real keyblade rather than an imitation like Xion's, and he called out to him. Part of Riku didn't really want to believe that his best friend really had a Nobody.

No, Vanitas is a Vanitas. This is a surprisingly popular question, but no. A Heartless is a heart that has been lost to darkness. Ven never lost his heart to darkness, just had that bit removed and given sentience. When Sora released his heart, he accidently released Ven's heart, from which came Roxas. Oh, and I'm pretty sure that another thread has already been created on this topic. I was really surprised to see this thread. I thought this question was over with, but I'll be happy to do my best to help even though this has already been answered.
My response is in spoilers due to the fact that there are some people who have not seen the secret ending of BBS yet. First things first. The main reason why Roxas looks like Ventus is because of something so simple, Roxas at the time of his existence, as he is back within Sora at this present time carried Ventus' heart inside him. This happened because earlier in the game, Ventus and Sora developed a connection, because Ventus took in Sora's heart for a time. After Vanitas and Ventus fought, Ventus' heart drifted and ended up in front of Sora, who willingly let Ventus' heart rest inside him.
When Sora released Kairi's heart, and turned into a Heartless, Ventus' heart remained in Sora's body or it could have drifted out and then entered again, but I'm putting my money on it staying inside Sora's body. Originally Roxas should have looked similar, if not the exact same way, as Sora. However, due to there being no heart other than Ventus' to affect Sora's Nobody, Roxas took on the appearance of Ventus.
Ven heart went into sora sora released his heart and kairi's and ventus and ven heart went to roxas and roxas took on ven's look. Well, you see after Ventus defeated Vanitas in the final battle inside their forged heart, Ventus's heart was damaged once again in the process of defeating both the X-Blade and Vanitas since they are both a part of him.
Soon after the final fught, Ventus's heart went inside Sora's body in order for his heart to be repaired like the first time he did when his heart got extracted by Xehanort's keyblade. Then, when Sora stabbed the keyblade that Ansem-Riku was using, it not only released Kairi's heart, but Ventus's heart as well, but Ven's heart took shelter withing Roxas, thus the reason why Roxas looks like Ventus. Well, the reason because this person asked this question the other way is most likely due to the fact that you see Roxas first, so generally if you don't know that BBS takes place first chronologically, then you might ask the other way around.
But that's just how I interpreted it.
